Tour of Britain

Tour of Britain Grande Depart at Liverpool
September 11th, 2014
|

Having been to see the Tour De France visit Yorkshire early this year, I was looking forward to the Tour of Britain being a bit closer to home in Liverpool and it didn’t disappoint.  I last saw the Tour in Liverpool around 2008 when on a Sunday morning I stood on a virtually empty road to photograph the riders going by.  There was no jostling for prime locations because you were essentially on your own!  What a difference a few years and an Olympics make as Liverpool was rammed with bike fans.  I also went to the second stage in North Wales, traipsing up the Great Orme to try and catch something a little different as the riders went past.  Hopefully next year I’ll be able to fit in more days, or I’ll just wait for that call for the spare seat on the back of photo bike!
